Mark & George from Illinois Ghost Hunters had invited Dean & Tim from Dead Serious back to the Fraternal Organization of DeKalb County. We were testing a ghost box...during this clip we were actually talking about people who have certain looks but seem to get the ladies attention.

We were discussing mouths like Steven Tyler or Mick Jagger for example: It turns out that a fifth soul wanted to join in on the topic at hand. Try to hear what this voice is trying to say.

2009 has been an interesting year - some of the best things have happen however in return some of the worst things have happened. I will begin by saying that the losses I have experienced this year is far from anything I have dealt with prior. I had to say goodbye to my pet of 16 years - She was my little girl named Dallas she is able to run in the fields now.

Just recently I had lost the most important person in my life, my Father. He has been in the hospital for about 4 months before his body just couldn't take anymore - he died naturally while I was away in Kentucky. I discovered the news in a Waffle House of all places. The fact that I am not able to share with him any of our groups future discoveries will be hard on me.

And now my cousin-in-law's Mom, Cathy, had just passed away. I was able to visit her the night before she had lost oxygen to the brain and there wasn't anything more they could do. It is a very heart-breaking year.

Bachelors Grove Cemetery

March 15, 2009 our small group had an opportunity to visit the infamous Bachelors Grove Cemetery for the first time. I won't go into the history of the cemetery since it has been widely covered. I will say that it was the first warm day of the year which prompted many of other visitors. We took many pictures and was able to do some evp work. In reviewing the evidence we did not obtain any evidence of visitors from the spirit world. The feeling I had was that of a tourist location and that the spirits will return later at night once the park closes. I feel that if there is a spirit that it would return amongst the two evergreen trees for this is the only colorful spot in the woods.

Sandwich, IL

On September 13, 2008 right at 8:00pm and after the rain had stopped we arrived at our destintion in Sandwich, Il. The house is a 2-Story home with a long history.

12/18/08 Update: We have completed our research and have the previous owners information back to the time the land was projected to be a new subdivision.

Hopefully with a follow-up investigation we will deteremine who is looking out the back bedroom window. I think I have an idea but we will let the Spirit speak for itself.

"Old Cem" Elgin, Il

"Old Cem" once contained about 4,000 graves. At least one still remains, that of William Hackman, in the far southeast corner. It is a reminder, in the words of a memorial tablet erected by the Elgin Area Historical Society, that "Their Worldly Tasks Completed, Elgin's Pioneers Were Laid to Rest In This Hallowed Ground".

Speaking German

A brief drive to a nearby cemetery gave me a very cool EVP.

The EVP is a whispering voice that came after I had asked a few questions. The area I was in had two stones with German writing so the questions I asked were in German. The response I received was in English, however the voice is talking about what I was doing. Let me know what you hear.

Huntley Farm House

Topic: Abandoned Farm House
Location: Huntley, Illinois
Date: From March to May of 2008
(Update: June 2008 house has since been torn down)

Claims of Paranormal: The original owner is said to return to finish his chores for the day and a young girl visits the area. The girl is said to of died in a three-wheeler accident in the same area. Feelings of being watched, reflection of a girl on a computer monitor, strange noises, whistling sounds and a figure of a man appearing from the floor in an upstairs bedroom. There was another claim that an arm had appeared reaching through a closed bedroom door. The biggest claim was that of the farmer walking around and can be seen everywhere and at anytime.

History/Facts: The farm was occupied by an Austrian immigrant and his family in 1918. The property remained in the family for three generations before being rented out and eventually sold to developers.

Investigation: All rooms in the house and Farm buildings were investigated. over the two months we did not witness any apparitions, or feelings of being watched. We did hear knocking and strange noises, however those were ruled out quickly, for the home had signs of mice. The house sits along a busy highway, discounting the strange noises, whistling, and strange shadows. Our video footage included some impressive orbs and light flashes. We had nothing concrete due to the passing cars, flashlights, bugs and dust. We have some interesting EVP's and photos of the land that we can share.

Conclusion: We could not obtain any evidence that the land, house or farm buildings are or were haunted.

This little guy was spotted on my trip to Williamsburg Hill and Ridge cemetery.

Little Woods EVP Link

This EVP you are about to hear came to me via the Little Woods Cemetery in Illinois.

Some notes: I was alone in the cemetery. Traffic, Wildlife and Jet sounds are present.
Tips: Play the recording several times to adjust your hearing to the sound of the passing jet. There will be three delayed sound waves from the jet flying over. The recording ends with me saying Amos, but has no bearing for this EVP. If you were able to hear the EVP on the first pass then great - let me know what you think it said. If you needed to play the recording several times, the key is to listen after the third sound wave - a voice seems to harmonize out of the fading jet wave.

From the Cemeteries that we have visited in Kane County, my favorite is the Little Woods Cemetery in Saint Charles Township. During several trips to Little Woods I have recorded a lot of Class B & C EVP's - nothing real definitive, however I always get something upon my return.
Tim found this while researching the genealogy records of Little Woods.

Ghostly Figures or trick of the eye, anyway you view it they seem to appear on the balcony of this Mansion - in the middle of winter. A face looks on directly at 11 o'clock from the figures. What do you think?
